Supporting Community Recovery: Sunesis Containers and the Latonia Elementary Roof Collapse

On New Year’s Eve, Latonia Elementary School in Covington, KY faced an unexpected challenge—a partial roof collapse in its gymnasium. Thankfully, no injuries occurred, but the incident disrupted learning and raised safety concerns for families and staff. As the community worked to stabilize the situation, Sunesis Containers stepped in to assist during this critical time.

The Incident

The collapse prompted an immediate response from emergency crews and structural engineers. Students shifted to remote learning while controlled demolition and cleanup efforts began. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation, but the priority was clear: restore safety and normalcy for the school community as quickly as possible.
